Sanctuary Lives in the Spaces Between Moments
Sanctuary is a feeling you return to. Not a destination, but a state of being. Where time loosens its grip, and the body remembers how to rest...
We work in living materials: cane, wood, sisal. Materials our grandmothers knew, chosen because they only grow more beautiful the more they're used.
The feeling of a home that held generations, made for now.
Over 30 years of refined practice. Made by hands that learned from hands before them. Every piece carries small variations — the proof a person made it, not a machine.
A home where time moves slower and you're held.

THE PRACTICE
We don't make more than we need. We work in materials that renew, and we make to order so little is wasted. None of this is a campaign. It's just the sensible way to make things that should last as long as you use them.
THE MATERIALS WE WORK IN
A climbing vine native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia. It grows fast — ready in five to seven years, where a tree can take decades — so the people who grow it have every reason to keep the forest standing.
Working with it has always meant working with the land, not against it.
Jute, sisal, and water hyacinth — the fibres in our rugs and drum stools. They grow quickly, can be cut again and again without exhausting the soil, and return to the earth at the end of their life. Materials that were never meant to outlast their use.
For pieces that live outdoors, we use synthetic fibres built to take sun, rain, and heat without giving way — so an outdoor piece stays good for years rather than a season. They can be recycled when their life is finally done.
Light, rust-proof, and made for the outdoors. It lasts, which means fewer replacements — and when its life is over it can be melted down and made again, endlessly, without losing anything.
We hope these pieces make home the place you most want to be — and that as they soften and mark with use, they stop feeling like something you bought and start feeling like something you've always had.
DESIGN & PROCESS INNOVATION
We're always refining how things are made. One example: by joining selected rattan cores and moulding them into a smooth, flat face, we get the look of a solid plank with far less material — and far less waste — than cutting one from wood.
PRODUCTION
For new launches we open pre-orders, so we make to real demand instead of guessing. We keep inventory lean and most larger pieces stay made-to-order.
(Thank you for your patience while we bring your order to you.)
PACKAGING & SHIPPING
We pack our containers to make full use of the space and the fuel. Each piece is wrapped in corrugated board rather than boxed, so everything stacks tight and travels protected — less damage, less waste.
